¿ä¾à Epidemiologic study on administrated 1237 lepers in Sorokdo leprosarium hat been
done by auther.
The ratio, nodular type to neural type and male to female, is seve6 to three and three
to two respectively.
The signs and symptoms of nodular types and male patients are more severe than
that of neural types and female patients.
91.3% of the patients are farmers and 9.73% of them have no jobs.
21.10% of the patients received the school education, 41.07% of the patients can read
and write, and the rest of them are quite ignorent.
They are 35.8 years old in average and are 4.2 years younger than that of Japanese
patients.
The average age of females and of the neural types are less than the males and the
nodular type respectively.
They are contracted in their teen ager most multiplily. 77.84% of them were affected
in cleven to thirty years old.
Their age .of onset is 18.6 years in average, but the onset of females and neural
types are earlier than the males and nodular types.
51.9% of the patients were affected in spring.
Those who have been affected lasting six to ten gears are most numerous and the
average years of duration is 17.7 years. In females and neural types are larger than the
and nodular types.
As initial symptoms, anaesthesia or hyposthesia was noted In 59.74%, vesicle
formation was noted in 19.07% and macula noted in 6.54% the patients.
Those initial symptoms were usually found in the lower limbs (48.9%) and upper
limbs(31.37%).
